B2B Appointment Setter / Business Development Representative

Location: Pasadena, CA (On-Site)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Compensation: $22.00-$28.00
Schedule: Monday-Friday | 9:00 AM-3:30 PM or 9:00 AM-5:30 PM

Position Summary

A growing professional services organization is seeking a highly motivated B2B Appointment Setter / Business Development Representative to support business development and lead generation efforts.

This role is responsible for identifying prospective clients, conducting outbound outreach, building relationships with decision-makers, qualifying opportunities, and scheduling meetings for the leadership team. The ideal candidate is comfortable spending a significant portion of their day on the phone, enjoys networking and relationship building, and thrives in a performance-driven environment.

This position focuses heavily on outreach to organizations within education, nonprofit, government, healthcare, and other professional sectors.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Prospecting

  • Research and identify prospective organizations and business opportunities.
  • Build and maintain targeted prospect lists.
  • Identify key decision-makers and stakeholders.
  • Conduct outbound outreach through phone calls, email campaigns, LinkedIn, and other approved channels.
  • Generate interest and schedule qualified appointments for leadership and sales teams.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with prospective clients.
  • Consistently execute follow-up campaigns and outreach sequences.
  • Support pipeline development and revenue growth initiatives.

Appointment Setting

  • Qualify prospects based on company-defined criteria.
  • Schedule and confirm meetings with key decision-makers.
  • Follow up with cancelled, postponed, and non-responsive prospects.
  • Coordinate meeting logistics and ensure appointments are properly tracked.
  • Support leadership teams by maintaining a steady pipeline of qualified opportunities.

CRM & Activity Management

  • Maintain accurate prospect and account information within the CRM.
  • Document calls, emails, meetings, and follow-up activities.
  • Track lead status and appointment outcomes.
  • Generate activity reports and pipeline updates.
  • Share market intelligence, customer feedback, and common objections with leadership.

Qualifications

Required

  • Previous experience in appointment setting, telemarketing, inside sales, sales development, lead generation, business development, or customer acquisition.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professional, confident phone presence.
  • Comfortable making high-volume outbound calls.
  • Experience speaking with decision-makers and executives.
  • Strong organizational and follow-through skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively.
  • Experience using CRM platforms and business software.
  • Results-driven mindset with the ability to meet performance goals.

Preferred

  • B2B appointment-setting experience.
  • Experience selling professional, consulting, educational, healthcare, or business services.
  • Experience working with schools, school districts, or educational organizations.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics or similar CRM systems.
  • LinkedIn prospecting experience.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding appointment-setting targets.
